On a race weekend our vehicle engineering is almost entirely computer based. Using our on event engineering spreadsheet, we input all the data from the vehicle into our spreadsheet for further analysis.
Things such as tyre temperatures and pressures have to be taken while the car is still scorching hot in the pitlane.
The pit lane is no environment for laptops and computers. The best solution is paper, pen and clipboard and making notes as someone shouts out the pressures and temperatures, to be later input into the spreadsheet.
Rather than having an untidy set of numbers scrawled on the clipboard, these can be logged on our sheets in a neat compact way.
