There is a large variety of exhaust clamps available, and some are definitely better than others. The best type of exhaust sealing clamp is a V-band clamp; however, it is unusual to find these further downstream in an exhaust system.
The next best option is this U-style clamp. Tightening each nut evenly creates strong, consistent clamping pressure, resulting in an effective seal on the vehicle’s exhaust system.
