Motorsport Anti-Vibration Washers Schnorr Assorted 200 Pieces M4-M10

Description

From Formula 1 cars to the space shuttle, to trains and fighter jets, there are 2 types of anti vibration washers which can be used in high frequency applications –
either a Schnorr or Nord-Lock washer.

Nord-lock (we do also sell) washers provide a very slight advantage in terms of anti vibration. However, Nord Lock washers are significantly more expensive and are mostly used in extreme frequency applications. For this reason, in motorsport, a Schnorr washer is usually used instead.

Schnorr washers have a conical grooved design which prevents bolts from winding loose under extreme forces and vibrations.
To put a metric on it, a Schnorr washer can resist 7 times more vibration than a Nylock Nut!

It goes without saying there are bolts on a competition car which CANNOT come loose – such as suspension bolts, steering bolts etc. It is always recommended to make use of a locking washer (and nut) in this instance.

You may find on your competition car certain bolt/s that continuously come loose
session after session. Drive shaft bolts are good example of this. Fit a Schnorr washer and never worry about it again!
