Wrench/Spanner Size chart – Thread size/ Head size AF Metric and SAE

£4.49

Description

Bolt identification can become difficult when there are many different thread sizes in all shapes and sizes. A key way to identify a bolt’s thread size is by the bolt’s head size. For instance, you may not be able to distinguish if a bolt is an M5 or an M6 by eye; however if you know a 10mm spanner fits the hex it is in fact an M6 bolt.

To make things even more confusing many vehicle manufacturers use bolts with all different head sizes regardless of the thread size. These have all been listed in our chart.

When it comes to imperial threads this chart is even more useful. For example you know you need a 5/16 UNF bolt however how can you identify this? Using digital calipers won’t get you very far, but usually if you know the head size you know the thread size!

You will receive one laminated chart 150 x 200mm
